Once again, despite the continual rain and the unforgiving cold winds, 12 ladies gathered inside Kilburn park station, cheery and ready for action.
This month we headed to Kilburn instead of exploring the usual and wonderful Abbey, we thought it would be interesting to explore the other bits of terrain that Kilburn had to offer. And in light of the rain, the only feasible option seemed to be keeping warm with a wet adventure through the estates of Kilburn! ;)
We took a small jog to an estate, where Shirley led the warm-up with joint rotations and then some cardio. Later we broke off into two groups. Annty and Shirley led a follow-the-leader-trail each through the rain. Following 15 minutes of exploration we jogged to the next spot, where we were met by a spider-web rope climbing frame, which was just screaming for us all to climb! So we did! Tracey took a few ladies through some balancing drills, and the other ladies worked on kongs over slippery surfaces and some weaved in and out small routes.
Jogging to the next spot for a follow-my-leader-type-trai
We'd like to say a huge thank-you to the awesome ladies that made it down, and to the coaches that helped out too! We look forward to seeing all you ladies again next month! :D
After a weather forecast of rain, 15 ladies turned up outside Westbourne Park Station with smiles in tow. The sun was beaming, one of its brightest smiles yet.
We all took a walk to the main spot where Annty did some joint rotations and led a warm up that consisted of a follow-the-leader-type expedition, jogging side ways, vaulting, climbing and weaving in and out, up and around the obstacles in our path. Shirley then began a small leg conditioning drill using different variations of going up and down stairs.
After a short water break the ladies broke off in to groups, some worked on basic vaults and combination drills with Annty and Shirley, catleaps and wallruns with Andy, balance with Blane or explorations of their own. Following the group photo, the few that were left played an awesome game of tag which involved full out sprinting and fast execution of vaults as well as coming up with tactical game plans.. Katie!*wink wink*. It was exhausting and extremely fun and a great way to end a great day.
Thank-you to all the ladies that made it down, to the new faces, we hope to see you again soon(!), to the old ones, it's always a pleasure(!), and to the ones that missed it, make sure to join in the fun next time(!) ;) not forgetting a big thanks to all the coaches that helped out too. See you all soon! :D
